What to Expect During Your Vampire Facial Treatment
Your Vampire Facial will be performed at Dr. Emer’s state-of-the-art medical practice in West Hollywood. The procedure usually takes less than an hour.
At the start of your treatment, a cleanser will be used to prepare the skin for microneedling. Next, a topical anesthetic will be applied to numb the treatment area.
While the anesthetic takes effect, Dr. Emer will create your PRP and stem cell serum. Blood is drawn from the patient and placed in a tube that, once spun in a centrifuge, separates natural growth factors and stem cells from red blood cells. Dr. Emer uses ACell to further enrich the PRP.
The microneedling treatment begins once the treatment site is numb. Dr. Emer will choose from several advanced microneedling devices to best address the needs of the unique patient. Dr. Emer carefully adjusts the device based on the patient’s skin tone and skin concerns before beginning the treatment.
During the microneedling procedure, Dr. Emer uses the handheld microneedling device to create tiny wounds across the surface of the skin. Depending on the patient’s skin, he may make multiple passes across the skin in order to achieve the desired outcome.
After microneedling. Dr. Emer massages the PRP/ACell serum into the treated skin. The micropunctures created during microneedling work as conduits, providing a direct path for the PRP and stem cells to reach deeper layers of the skin.
Vampire Facial Recovery: What to Expect
The Vampire Facial requires minimal downtime, though patients can expect the treated skin to appear red and dry for three to five days after treatment. Many patients return to work and their other normal activities within a day or two.
For about the first three days after microneedling with PRP, avoid vigorous exercise, as well as steam rooms, saunas, and spas. Excessive sweating may irritate the skin.
